Ingredients
- 4.0 unit Bratwurst
- 500.0 g Sauerkraut (drained)
- 1.0 unit Onion (sliced)
- 1.0 tbsp Olive oil
- 50.0 g Mustard (for serving)
- 1.0 tsp Black pepper
- 1.0 tsp Caraway seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat (around 180°C).
- Add olive oil and sliced onion, sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the onion becomes translucent.
- Add the bratwurst to the skillet and cook for 5-6 minutes, turning occasionally until browned on all sides.
- Add sauerkraut and black pepper to the skillet, stirring gently to combine; cook for another 10-12 minutes, allowing flavours to meld.
- If using, sprinkle in caraway seeds for added flavour and stir well.
- Make sure the bratwurst reaches an internal temperature of 70°C for safe consumption.
- Taste the sauerkraut and adjust seasoning if necessary; serve while hot with mustard on the side.
- Plate the dish, ensuring bratwurst and sauerkraut are heaped attractive and drizzle with any remaining pan juices.
