- 2.0 unit garlic cloves (minced)
- 1.0 unit carrot (finely chopped)
- 1.0 unit celery stalk (finely chopped)
- 500.0 g minced beef
- 400.0 g canned tomatoes (chopped)
- 2.0 tbsp tomato puree
- 125.0 ml red wine (optional, adds depth)
- 1.0 tsp dried oregano
- 1.0 tsp dried basil
- 1.0 pinch salt (to taste)
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil over medium heat in a large pan. Add the chopped onion and cook until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic, carrot, and celery. Cook for another 5 minutes until the vegetables have softened, stirring occasionally.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and add the minced beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 8 minutes.
- Pour in the red wine and let it simmer for 2 minutes to reduce slightly.
- Stir in the canned tomatoes, tomato puree, oregano, and basil. Season with salt and pepper. Lower the heat to a gentle simmer, cover partially, and cook for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in a pot of boiling salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Taste the Bolognese sauce and adjust the seasoning if needed. It should be rich and aromatic.
- Serve the sauce over the spaghetti and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
